Te Wiki o te Reo Māori - Papamoa Primary School
My latest land art commission was something truly special. To celebrate 50 years of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, (Māori language week), I created a large-scale chalk artwork on grass for Papamoa Primary School. The design, reading Kia Kaha Te Reo Māori, was made using my new environmentally friendly chalk and water spray technique — months in development and now ready to release to the world.
Seeing the entire school gather on the field and run across the artwork was magic. It brought the piece to life and reminded me why I love creating public, interactive art that connects people to place and culture. This project marked my first major chalk spray land art activation, expanding my work beyond sand art and into new sustainable surfaces.
