Young at Heart Festival 2025

The Young at Heart Festival, Tauranga, New Zealand 1-8th October 2025, is a week to celebrate our older community – parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbours – who do so much for the city. Thanks to the support of Tauranga City Council, Envirohub BOP for putting on this event. I put on three public sand art lessons, attendees learnt how to do large-scale mandala style drawings in the sand,

I shared my personal journey of how I started doing sand art and how incorporating mindfulness into this practice has brought immense freedom to my life. This was followed by a short grounding exercise and guided meditation before getting into the sand art lesson.
